Hi everyone,

today we first talked about your Christmas holidays. I learnt that many of you went skiing. Good for you! Amaury for instance has an aunt in Annecy. He visits her about once a month! Lucky you!

Then you had to perform your acting in front of the class. I can't say that I'm proud of what you did or that you should be proud of yourself either... Shamefully your grades are going to be very low, at least for some of you.

Homework:

- ne pas oublier de rendre la correction du devoir sur "Squanto" et "Thanksgiving".

- les deux absents aujourd'hui devront rattraper leur passage "théâtre" la prochaine fois qu'ils seront en cours.

Hello everyone,

today you had a class with Kathryn about what happened last year, some important events of 2012.

You can watch the video you talked about in class here:

You had a worksheet to fill to see how much you could remember from the document. Download it here again.

Today you were supposed to work in groups to make you play alive but only one group really managed to do what was expected of them. The others are just plain slackers or acted in such a stupid way I can't even begin to think what to call you...

Hi guys,

today I asked some of you to say their parts. We improved your pronunciation and your acting.

Let's hope you will ALL know your roles better next time as it will be a final rehearsal before your acting for real.

We'll meet up next time in the "salle polyvalente".

Homework:

- connaître votre rôle par coeur et faire attention à la prononciation correcte. Répétez en rythme et trouver les bons tons de voix à utiliser et les bons gestes à faire pour faire passer votre texte et bien le mémoriser.

Hi guys,

today we made a quick recap of the lesson you had to learn: the attitudes of the different characters in the play.

Then we continued the lesson with a phonetics exercise to pronounce 2 or 3-syllable-words.

You can download the worksheet here again:

wmpv2 folder

We also completed your vocabulary exercice.

Download a copy here.

Then I gave you a number corresponding to the role you need to learn by HEART!

1- Henry
2- Anne Boleyn
3- Judge
4- Percy
5- Narrator (and prompter)

Homework:

- vous devez connaître les répliques de vos rôles parfaitement pour demain mardi. Vous devrez terminer une mise en scène (geste, déplacement, ton de voix, regard, ...) et vous passerez vendredi pour être évalué.

Hi guys,

today after making it clear that your copybooks had to be improved, we continued the lesson about the play "A Royal Execution".

Here is what we said about the attitudes of the characters:

Henry is furious and jealous. He thinks it's insulting that his wife Anne Bolyen has a lover.

Anne is shocked when she sees Percy, her lover, speaking in court.

Percy is scared. He loves Anne Boleyn (the Queen). He thinks he will be beheaded because of high treason.

Anne is desperate because she thinks she's going to be executed.

At the end, Anne Boleyn is scared (she screams), Percy is resigned (he sighs). Henry smiles; he is satisfied with the verdict.

The jury is extremely happy (they cheer) because Anne Boleyn will be executed. Her crime is high treason.

Homework:

- commencer à refaire son cahier en suivant scrupuleusement la fiche d'auto-évaluation et ainsi obtenir 28/28.

- faire les exercices de vocabulaire distribués et actualiser son carnet de vocabulaire.

- connaître la leçon par coeur.

Hi everyone,

today you had the chance to act out stage directions but your behaviour was far from being correct. I doubt I'll want to do this kind of activity with you again...

Here is the lesson you need to know for next time:

Hi guys,

today we studied a new document about Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. It deals with the trial of Anne Boleyn in the form of a play.

You can download a copy of the play here again.

Here is what we wrote in the copybooks:

WHO --- There are 4 characters and the jury.

WHERE / WHEN --- The scene takes place in 1536 at the court of Henry VIII.

....
