http://2010vanfan.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/lumberjack-scarf.jpgHey,

today we first corrected your homework. You had to look for stereotypes about Canadians and here is what you found:

Canadians are said...

... to eat pancakes with maple syrup
... to be lumberjacks / forest keepers
... to have a weird / odd / a redneck accent
... not to like Americans
... to wear tartan shirts
... to live with elks / moose
... to be the best hockey players in the world
... to drink a lot of tea

They are believed / thought to be the champions of the environment.

Then we started watching a video. Here is what we said about it:

The document is a video. There is one character who in on stage and he is speaking to an audience. His name is Joe and he is Canadian. At first, he is calm whereas at the end, he is excited / over-excited. He is speaking loud because he is proud of his country / of being Canadian.
He is speaking louder and louder. He gets crazier and crazier. He gets more and more excited.

Grammar: Comparatif de supériorité -> si on rajoute "er" à un adjectif et qu'il dépasse deux syllabes, alors ce n'est pas possible. Il faut mettre "more".

Stereotypes:

- Confirmed: tartan shirts / not to like US
- Denied: lumberjack / eat blubber / own a dogsleigh / have a President (a Prime Minister)

You can watch it again below:

HW: learn your lesson and new vocabulary.
The picture represents two statues of Duane Hanson. Immediately / At first sight, we think they are German tourists. They are wearing old-fashioned summer clothes. They are also wearing outdated
flip-flops ans old camera. Moreover, they are fat; they correspond to the stereotype / cliché / preconceived idea of the German tourist.
